A lot of it reads like my to-do list. :) I am happy you pointed out the emphasis on data portability and interval study. By the way, you can jump between fields during card creation by clicking tab. Rich formatting elements are allowed via basic HTML (including img). I've tried a few rich text editors but the results were ugly (so far). When the site launched it supported textile.
